Big week....Big boy bed AND paci fairy!

So I wasnt exactly planning on putting Harrison in a big boy bed and taking away his pacifier (lovingly named "da" by Harrison) all at the same time, but it just sort of happened..... We have been discussing what to buy for Harrison's first bed for a long time. A very long time. I give Bill a hard time that the ONLY thing he had an opinion about when we got married and had to do a registry was.....silverware. He wanted heavy, sturdy, manly silverware. And since that was seriously the ONLY thing he had an opinion about, he got it :). And since we have just recently bought our first house, I have thought of that often.....because the ONLY thing he has had an opinion on since we have moved in has been Harrison's bed. He wanted bunk beds, badly. So, he got it. :) We finally ordered them and they arrived on a Thursday, and I told Harrison Daddy would put his big boy bed together that weekend. He was so, so excited. Also on Thursday, Harrison had a dentist appointment....and we were given a very, very strict, borderline mean, ultimatum to give up the pacifier....."immediately". Apparently his "da" has significantly affected his bite, and the dentist was clearly NOT happy about it. So, on Monday morning I consulted with his sweet and wonderful preschool teacher Ms. Amanda and decided that the paci fairy would visit during preschool that day...here we go! So, the paci fairy visited his big boy bed, took the pacifier to give to the babies in cribs throughout the world, and left him with a few presents....new books, a new elmo puzzle, and a huge gummy crocodile (and fortunately for me he wasnt suspicious of the christmas wrapping paper!!!). He wasnt so convinced at nap time, when he proceeded to scream for 45 minutes that he wanted his "da"..... but at bedtime he needed only a little convincing that big boys sleep in big boy beds without pacifiers. We had a little glitch in our plan when Bill got home from work and went to check on him, and found him with the light on, reading his new lightning mcqueen book.....WITH A PACIFIER IN HIS MOUTH!!!! He told Bill he found it in the bed.....oops!!! Bill told him the paci fairy must have forgotten it so he would give it to her so she could deliver it to the babies in cribs who needed a pacifier. He seemed confused, but convinced..... Goodnight Harrison! We love you and are so proud of the big boy you are so, so quickly becoming....

Are you trying to make me jealous with that bedding? I've had my eye on it since it came out, but don't have any bunk beds to put it on. i LOVE it.

Tell Harrison his Aunt Jen is so proud of him and that Cole might still need a paci from the paci fairy if you find any other rogue pacifiers lying around.
