Two words I would use to describe you and your first year of life.....sweet and busy!
You have been so incredibly sweet and such a joy from the very beginning. You are filled with so much curiosity, so much energy, and so much love. You are passionately in love with your big brother Harrison, your daddy, and with me....and we are all passionately in love with you. It is with ease that we can bring a smile to your face, and that in turn brings a smile to ours. Your brother loves you and enjoys you so much. He is always checking in on you, making sure you are well cared for, and gives me updates on where you are if not with us.... ("Mawowy go night night" or "Mawowy needs bottle" or "Mawowy needs her da" (Harrisons word for pacifier :) ). It is so sweet to see your relationship with Harrison grow and develop. We pray that you would grow to grasp how special and deep the relationship is between siblings and grow to truly cherish each other.
Although you have been forced to "go with the flow" by the nature of the past year we have had, you have been a very busy little one from the moment you could start move your little body. You dont sit still, and really never have! You really didnt like bouncy seats or swings, or anything that kept you stationary (in my arms was the only exception). I have never been able to describe you as a "snuggler", because you were always too busy and too curious to sit still long enough to snuggle. However, you never go more than a few strides or a few steps away before turning around and looking to make sure we see you, which is your little way of keeping us close to your heart. Once you know we have an eye on you, you confidently take off and explore the world with full force :). We love the adventurous spirit we already see in you. You are strong, and energetic, and passionate. You are not a fan of strangers....at all! However, once you learn to trust someone you love them wholeheartedly....and you are capable of making everyone fall in love with you. I have often compared your laugh to your Aunt Victoria's.....a contagious laugh that has the power to making everone in a room smile and laugh with the same energy and joy as yours.
Your great grandmother passed away one day before your first birthday. Your father learned at her funeral that her favorite verse was Psalm 121:5-8, and he read this verse at your baptism. This verse has become our prayer for you.
"The Lord is your keeper, the Lord is your shade on your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all evil; He will keep your life. The Lord will keep your going out and coming in from this day forth and forevermore."
We are so incredibly proud of you, hope for the best for you, and pray you would grasp how much you are loved. Happy Birthday sweet girl.
